Quilting the LHC

Science is inspiring and often beautiful. When Kate Findlays first saw images of the LHC at CERN she was drawn to the structures and patterns intrinsic to the device and inspired. For the last four years she has been making quilts based on the imagery of the LHC using not just a range of fabrics but wire, cords and many other unconventional quilting supplies as well. Her quilts are based not only on the LHC itself, but also on the particle physics it explores.
